STEVE IGNORANT BAND - CRASS - Rebellion 2026 Confirmed

When we recorded ‘Feeding Of The Five Thousand’ we had no idea of what a spark it would fuse. We seriously thought it would only sell 15 at most – how wrong we were! It was the first record I’d ever done, so it’s always been a bit special to me; for me it’s the benchmark for what Crass was about – raw and rough with no pretensions.

After we released our second album ‘Stations Of The Crass’ we were aware that we were in danger of being seen as a ‘boot-boy’ band, so we recorded ‘Penis Envy’ to counteract that and also to show we could do ‘music’.

That record also caused a stir because -and to quote- “There’s only birds singing on it”, but it made people see us in a different light, and it did inspire other bands to address the feminist issue.

So many years later, the Steve Ignorant Band are going to perform the full ‘Feeding’ album and our favourite tracks from across the Crass catalogue at Rebellion to celebrate 30 years of …. Well, REBELLION!
