On this day, 44 years ago Crass recorded their first album in southern Studios – 18 Track EP, 29th October 1978.
We recorded it in one go – starting during the day and working well into the night. It is still my favourite Crass album

Check out the article in the Guardian 🙂
After it had to be rescheduled twice due to the pandemic, North East Calling was finally happening. What a line up and so great to meet up with everyone again.
The Ignorant Band: Steve Ignorant (vocals), Carol Hodge (vocals & keys), Jay Bagnall (drums), Pete Rawlinson (bass), Pete Wilson (guitar). All photos by Simon Balaam.
Our very first gig of the IGNORANT TOUR after 18 months delay, had to of course start in Nottingham where Crass played 37 years ago. We were all pretty nervous and super excited to finally get on stage and perform those Crass songs that we’ve been rehearsing for the last 2 1/2 years.
What a night! Thanks to our Special guests ‘Static Kill’ and ‘The Blunders’ for joining us. Massive thanks to Lee Garratts from ‘Both Eyes Open’ for setting up the gig and of course a very special thank you to all that come along. It truly was a great start of our tour.
It’s great to finally getting started with our tour that was planned so long ago. Our first 3 gigs were epic and we can’t wait to get on with the rest of the tours.
Yesterday I joined Tim Burgess at one of his listening parties. It was great that so many people at exactly 7pm pressed play or put the needle of their record player down on the vinyl or listened via Spotify/YouTube or other streaming options.
I really enjoyed listening to the album again while tweeting away. If you missed it you can click on the link and listen to it in real time.

15th April – Morning All, One Little Independent’s Dropbox account got blocked because there was too much traffic. Ben has upgraded it and everything is now sorted. New link – https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xil8f9j9lz32ly6/AAB2TM80jUuSFUCfnjWu9hNSa?dl=0
Another great video from Mark Brown.
