Tokyo, Japan 16th and 17th January 2018

Playing with Paranoid Visions in Tokyo was certainly special. The people we met could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were looked after from the moment we arrived to when we were on the plane again which was a good thing as nearly all of the writing is in Japanese.

Tokyo by day.
Tokyo by night.

The support bands we played with were fantastic and I absolutely loved listening to them. It’s a shame it’s so expensive for them to come over to Europe as I know they would go down here really well.

The sound was superb and there was a great crowd.

Great to see that recycling was a big thing, though I had no idea what to put in what bin.
Second night in between sound check and doors. We’re all a bit jetlagged and tired.

Thank you Tokyo.

I know you, like me, are desperately waiting for the “1977220174U” ltd edition live LP that Paranoid Visions and I did at Blackpool.
The delivery / release date will now be late January 2018. I’m sorry about the delay but I’ve no control over that process.

Punk Features on ITV Anglia – 9th, 10th January 2018

In December I did an interview with Matthew Hudson from ITV Anglia at the Birdcage. He has created two punk features which will be running on ITV Anglia coming Tuesday and Wednesday (9th & 10th January) at 6pm. I haven’t seen it myself but apparently I’ll appear in the first feature.
Looking forward to see both of them.
I did play with Crass in Norwich but can’t remember the venue, in 2015 I played with Slice Of Life at The Owl Sanctuary and in 2016 we played at the Birdcage. It’s a vibrant city and worth checking out the market with some fantastic vegan and veggie food stalls.

STEVE IGNORANT WITH PARANOID VISIONS 1977220174U LIVE LP
(£20.00 PLUS POSTAGE & PACKAGE – SHIPPING WORLDWIDE)

After much deliberation, rehearsal and nerves… Steve Ignorant and Paranoid Visions decided to celebrate Steve’s 40 years in the music industry with a special show at the wonderful Rebellion Festival, Blackpool, United Kingdom at 5.15pm August 5th 2017 on the 3000 capacity outdoor stage known as the Casbah. The set was regarded as one of the festivals highlights and the atmosphere, spirit of celebration and general love in the air was something that took everyone by surprise….

Included in the set for the first time officially in many years was material from Crass, mixed with Stratford Mercenaries, Conflict, Dirt, Poison Girls, Flux of Pink Indians and the bands own material nestling together showing a 40 year spread of material Steve has been associated with.. or just adored!

As luck would have it, somebody bootlegged the entire set, and as even more luck would have it the sound captured was fantastic and really captured the feeling of being right there at the show… at the front… which is exactly where he was. Even more luck strikes when Crass collaborator and the man behind the re-masters of the Crass albums volunteered to spend many hours improving the sound.

And so here it is…. a limited edition, numbered 1 – 500, RED vinyl with insert and download “official bootleg” release

track listing is…

Slice Of Life in Ireland 20-22nd October

We were all looking forward to going back to Ireland again after the warm welcome we had last year when we went on the ferry and Carol drove us around in her van. As we didn’t fancy getting up at 3 am to drive to the ferry we decided this time that flying was so much better.

Well …. It took ages for me and Jona to get through security as every single bag got checked thoroughly at Stansted. Carol had a long train journey leaving at 6am before arriving at Heathrow. And the Pete’s who are only half an hour away from the airport in Manchester got stuck on the stairs that would lead to the plane for over an hour with loads of other people as the door was broken and could not be opened. So not a relaxing journey for any of us.

But …. once we arrived at Dublin and we were together again and started our gigs it was absolutely brilliant. It didn’t matter that it rained most days and that the sky was grey because it was the people that came to see us that warmed our hearts.

Our first gig at Crane Lane Theatre in Cork.
Thanks Ian for setting this gig up. We loved it.
Chilling.
The next morning -very wet- waiting for the coach to take us back to Dublin. Playing at Fibber Magees that night.
At Fibber Magees. Great to see so many familiar faces. We talked so much that we forgot to take any pics. Great gig.
An amazing night at the Stags Head in Dundalk. Petesy joint us on stage for ‘Band From The Roxy’.
Skinner and me.

Big thank you to David Manning for filming the gig at the Stags Head in Dundalk, Ireland.

It looks great in 1080!

Book Talk at Rough Trade East, London 17th October 2017

NO FUTURE by Matthew Worley and REFERENCES by Steve Ignorant
Between some serious stuff we had a real laugh. Any difficult questions I passed on to Matthew.
Cathi Unsworth kept the conversation going with some great questions.
I just finished one of her books ‘Weirdo’ -a dark compelling read, loved it.
Tim was on top form and DJ for the night.
Afterwards we all had a laugh, chat and drink.
Thanks Dave Guttridge for the great Photos and everyone else for coming along.

Rebellion 2017 – Steve Ignorant with Paranoid Visions

A special set celebrating 40 years shouting down a microphone and remembering some of the very special people we lost this year.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support over the years. Even if you were not there on the day you still were very much a part of it.

It’s great to see all the footage and many photos that have been taken.
